Ritz Carlton Reserve Phulay Bay
After our friends wedding in Krabi we decided to take a little honeymoon ourselves. A few days at the Ritz Carlton Reserve Phulay Bay was the perfect escape to end our Thailand trip.
Phulay bay is the perfect place to enjoy the best of the Krabi area. The area is secluded and away from all the hustle of Phuket and the bustling day trippers of Krabi town.
The first thing we noticed at The Ritz Carlton Reserve Phulay Bay is how spacious & private it is. Everything is grand at the resort. From the Thai Palace inspired lobby to the rooms, the pool and the incredible views of the Andaman sea.
We stayed in one of the incredible reserve villas next to the huge infinity pool. Its more like your own palace, stepping into the villa feels like you are walking into the world of Aladin. High walls, arches, artworks & luxurious details everywhere. You’ll find yourself lost in the largest & softest bed you could imagine. We could easily spend our whole stay unwinding in the villa. Between the private pool, incredible indoor and outdoor bathtubs and the ever beckoning bed.
As tempting as it was to spend our whole time in the room there was so much more calling us. Here’s our favourite things about our stay at Ritz Carlton Reserve Phulay Bay:
The pool
The infinity pool is the perfect place to unwind and take in the tropical views. During our stay at the resort, borders and flights had just started to close due to COVID-19 so we were lucky enough to have the pool basically to ourselves. Little did we know this would be our last trip for a while.
Day Trips
There are many day trip options to choose from at Phulay Bay. We took the morning boat out to explore beautiful Hong island & the blue lagoon. The best thing about Ritz Carlton’s is that it is closer to Hong Island than Krabi so you’ll beat the crowds. Having at least an hour to experience the island by yourself. You can also pre order a picnic hamper and enjoy beautiful brunch here!
The Sunset Bar
One of our favourite times of day at Ritz Carlton Reserve was sunset at Chomtawan bar. Grab a cocktail or fresh coconut, sit back and watch the sun dip behind the Andaman islands. Make sure you try the complementary fire roasted popcorn and also the traditional Thai appetisers. Every afternoon at the sunset bar they also have different activities to join, we tried our hand at lotus art, it was a really nice experience.
Restaurants
There are great restaurant options to choose from at Phulay Bay. Enjoy fresh seafood overlooking the sea at beautiful Lae Lay. Mediterranean & Western options at Jampoon and our personal favourite traditional Thai fine dining with shared dishes on the balcony at Sri Trang. Breakfast is always one of our favourite meals of the day and the buffet at Ritz Carlton never disappoints. We always love to try the local style breakfast options and ask the staff for their top picks. Fresh young coconuts on ice were the best way to start the day followed by the Thai style Congee and please don’t leave without trying the chefs special coconut french toast, it’s life changing! no joke.
While you are in Thailand we highly recommend a stay at the beautiful Six Senses Yah Noi. A beautiful sustainable resort located on the stunning island of Yah Noi.
