If you’re scouring the internet for the best hotels in Tulum, let me save you some time: Nomade Tulum has stolen our hearts… twice. Yep, this was our second stay at this beautiful hotel. Nestled among the lush jungle and coconut palms, this Tulum Beach hotel has set the bar high for what a Tulum beach escape should be like.
Nomade Tulum Hotel
Located right on Tulum Beach, Nomade creates a captivating setting right from the start. With sandy paths, the scent of copal incense wafting through the air, and a mysterious tribal atmosphere, the resort engages all your senses. This time, we spent three nights in one of their treehouses. Waking up in the palm tree canopy with the sea breeze was amazing, they even have a beautiful tropical outdoor shower. Already sold? You can book your Jungle escape at Nomade here.
Food for the Soul at La Popular and Macondo
Nomade Tulum has several great dining options, but our go-to has always been La Popular, their open air beach BBQ. Whether it’s lunch or dinner, you’re dining with your toes in the sand under palm trees. Our favourites? The tacos, ceviche, and freshly grilled fish. And let’s not forget those smoky mezcal margaritas.
Breakfast at Macondo is just as heavenly. Starting the day with fresh fruit and healthy options. The resort also has a Japanese omakase style restaurant called Kuu. All the restaurants ate open to the public if you’re not staying at the resort but still want to experience it. Just be sure to book ahead

Sunset & evenings at Be Tulum Hotel
For a change of scene, we often wander next door to Be Tulum Hotel, which is part of the same hotel group. There, you’ll find Mareseas, a rooftop and lounge beach bar up in the palm trees, perfect for sunset margaritas. After that, we headed down to Ocumare for a dinner experience unlike any other: Latin guitar tunes, copal infused sea breeze, and dim, moody lighting. Ultimate Tulum vibes. You can also visit these restaurants and bars without being a guest.
Daytime Activities
If you somehow manage to tire of spending the day in the beach cabanas, there’s always the option to hop on one of the resort’s bikes and explore the local cafes and boutiques. Or even head out to explore the many cenotes around the area. But we find once you get to Nomade it’s pretty hard to leave. The resort also offers yoga, meditation and sound healing classes.
Why Nomade is the best hotel on Tulum beach
All in all, Nomade Tulum is more than just a stay, it’s a barefoot luxury experience that truly encapsulates the bohemian, jungle atmosphere Tulum is famous for.
So, if you’re looking for a real Tulum beach hotel that ticks all the boxes, Nomade Tulum is where you’ll want to go. And if you ever find yourself there, don’t forget to have a mezcal margarita for us.
