Nomade Tulum Hotel

If you’re looking for the best Tulum Beach hotel, Nomade Tulum is an icon in jungle luxury. Nestled between the beach and the palms, the property greets guests with winding sandy paths and the signature scent of copal incense. Its mysterious, tribal atmosphere sets it apart from other luxury resorts in Mexico, offering a unique blend of spiritual wellness and beachfront relaxation

Staying in Nomade Tulum Treahouse

This time, we checked into one of Nomade’s iconic Jungle Treehouses, and it was pure magic. There is something incredibly grounding about waking up elevated within the palm canopy, lulled by the rhythm of the sea breeze. The design seamlessly blends luxury with nature, the highlight being the beautiful tropical outdoor shower that lets you rinse off under the stars. It’s the ultimate way to experience the Tulum jungle without sacrificing comfort.

Dining at Nomade Tulum: La Popular & Macondo

Nomade Tulum has several great dining options, but our go to has always been La Popular, their open air beach BBQ. Whether it’s lunch or dinner, you’re dining with your toes in the sand under palm trees. Our favourites? The tacos, ceviche, and freshly grilled fish. And let’s not forget those smoky mezcal margaritas.

Breakfast at Macondo is just as heavenly. Starting the day with fresh fruit and healthy options. The resort also has a Japanese omakase style restaurant called Kuu. All the restaurants are open to the public if you’re not staying at the resort but still want to experience it. Just be sure to book ahead

Sunset Drinks at Be Tulum: The Sister Property

For a change of scene, we often wander next door to Be Tulum Hotel, which is part of the same hotel group. There, you’ll find Mareseas, a rooftop and lounge beach bar up in the palm trees, perfect for sunset margaritas. After that, we headed down to Ocumare for a dinner experience unlike any other: Latin guitar tunes, copal infused sea breeze, and dim, moody lighting. Ultimate moody Tulum vibes. You can also visit these restaurants and bars without being a guest.

Things to Do: Yoga, Bikes, and Cenotes

If you somehow manage to tire of spending the day in the beach cabanas, there’s always the option to hop on one of the resort’s bikes and explore the local cafes and boutiques. Or even head out to explore the many cenotes around the area. But we find once you get to Nomade it’s pretty hard to leave. The resort also offers yoga, meditation and sound healing classes.

Nomade Tulum: Frequently Asked Questions

Is Nomade Tulum worth the price? Absolutely. If you value a “barefoot luxury” experience, world class wellness programs (like sound healing and yoga), and direct access to the best part of Tulum Beach, Nomade is worth every penny. Since it’s one of the most popular hotels in the area, we recommend booking several months in advance to secure the best rates.

Can you visit the restaurants at Nomade Tulum if you aren’t a guest? Yes! La Popular, Macondo, and the Japanese omakase restaurant Kuu are all open to the public. However, they are incredibly popular, so it is highly recommended to make a reservation via OpenTable or through their WhatsApp concierge before you arrive.

Does Nomade Tulum have air conditioning? Yes. While the resort focuses on a natural, “eco-chic” lifestyle, all rooms including the Jungle Treehouses are equipped with air conditioning to ensure you stay cool during the humid Mexican nights.

How far is Nomade Tulum from the town center? Nomade is located on the southern end of the Tulum Beach road (the “Hotel Zone”). It is about a 20-30 minute drive from Tulum town (Pueblo), depending on traffic. We recommend renting one of the hotel’s bikes to explore the nearby boutiques and cafes, as the beach road can get quite busy with cars.
